Unity Module

The Unity module was one of the first major connecting elements of the International Space Station and helped begin its assembly in orbit. As a central node, it links multiple pressurized components together and provides the pathways, power lines, and fluid connections needed to support station operations. Unity represents the early foundation of the station’s growth, showing how separate international elements were brought together to form a permanently inhabited laboratory in space.
