Starlab is a next-generation commercial space station being developed to support scientific research, technology development, and a continued human presence in low Earth orbit after the International Space Station. Designed as a destination for space agencies, researchers, and private industry, it reflects a major shift toward the future of commercial space operations and microgravity science. Its development shows how the next phase of human activity in orbit will rely on innovation, global collaboration, and new platforms built to carry research and exploration forward beyond the ISS.
The project is supported by a broad international network of companies and organizations. Its core joint venture includes Voyager Technologies, Airbus, Mitsubishi Corporation, MDA Space, Palantir Technologies, and Space Applications Services, while strategic partners include Hilton, Journey, Northrop Grumman, and The Ohio State University. Together, these partners contribute to areas such as engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence, hospitality design, research access, and commercial development, helping shape Starlab into a globally connected destination for science, technology, and long-term human operations in space.
